Default Anyone collect coins?

The new quarters for North Dakota are out and I have my proof set from the San Francisco mint.

When my F-I-L passed on, we inherited a sh*tload of uncirculated Morgan and Peace dollars. I haven't a clue what to do with them so they're locked in a safety deposit box.

My advice is to get a Red Book of coin values and a good coin grading book. You could be sitting on some rare and valuable coins. Don't get cheated by some fly-by-night coin buyer. Morgan dollars are one of the most beautiful coins ever minted and are becoming quite valuable depending on condition.

May do that someday (too much other stuff going on now); they're safe where they sit now.

...you can bet I'll research before selling.

In my opinion silver and gold are poised for a leap in price and precious metal is a very good investment for the long term.

Two ways to look at it:

Collectors value, volatile and worth whatever someone is willing and able to pay.

Precious metal value, volatile and worth this amount today.

That quarter from 1963 still will buy you a gallon of gas and a candy bar

Proven fact: The best and safest investment is a high value classic car, if you have a place to keep it that is of no cost to you. They are the only thing that has held their value and even increased through this recession.(other than gold) Increase in value probably due to the fact that no matter what happens to the dollar, gold or any currency they will still have a high value. They have done nothing but gone up through the past decades. I remember when the first car ever was sold for a million dollars. A Ferrari GTO and Mick Jagger bought it. Now those cars regularly sell for two or even three times that. And that was only ten years ago. What other commodity triples in ten years?
